The trip to the seals begins from Hörnum on Sylt and leads you directly to the impressive resting places of the seals in the Wadden Sea. These unique nature experiences, where, depending on the tide, you may see hundreds of seals on the sandbanks or only a few in the water, are a highlight for all age groups. During the tour, a small net is lowered into the water and the staff of the Wadden Sea Conservation Station (www.schutzstation-wattenmeer.de) provide a naturalistic insight into the underwater world. The animals caught during the sea creature capture are released back after the trip. Thus, this tour offers both entertainment and education, vividly presenting the life of the North Sea and the seals. Note: The likelihood of seeing seals is highest two hours before and after low tide. Here you can find the tide calendar. Combine a trip to the seal banks with a visit to the "Sylt Aquarium." Marvel at the tropical marine world with its fascinating exotics and coral reefs and learn more about our native sea creatures. A panoramic tunnel awaits you as a special highlight.
