The trip to the seals departs from Hörnum on Sylt and takes you directly to the impressive resting places of the seals in the Wadden Sea. These unique natural experiences, where depending on the tide you may see hundreds of seals on the sandbanks or just a few in the water, are a highlight for all ages. During the tour, a small net is lowered into the water and the staff of the Wadden Sea Conservation Station (www.schutzstation-wattenmeer.de) provide insights into the underwater world. The animals caught during the sea creature catch are released after the trip. This tour thus offers both entertainment and education, vividly presenting the life of the North Sea and its seals. Note: The chance of seeing seals on the trip is highest two hours before and two hours after low tide. Here is the tide calendar.
