What to look forward to
Your journey starts here.
Is it Christmas already? Festive mood arrives with Da Meier & Watschnbaam. Instead of quiet snow, there's a hearty “It's hung up!” as the humorous tap is driven into the mulled wine barrel. From company Christmas parties to visits to the Christkindlmarkt and the Job Fair of the Holy Four Kings (yes, the Startup from Bethlehem is hiring), the Lower Bavarian-Upper Palatinate cabaret quartet featuring Thomas "Dammerl" Hantke, Florian "Flore" Kuchler, Seppe "Wingei" Geiger, and Matthias "Da Meier" Meier, formerly known as showmaker of the cult trio "Da Huawa, da Meier und I," embark on a funny-musical sled ride, sweetening the Advent season. These four passionate artists heat up even the LED light chains, offering everything from recorder to accordion. Christmas classics like "Last Christmas" are parodied alongside usual suspects: a burnout Krampus, an overqualified reindeer, and a money-hungry Cola-Nikolo. But is it just about presents and goose with dumplings? About shining children's eyes, contemplative parlor music under the Christmas tree, and lots of love? Bishop Matthias Meier reminds with liturgical chant in his Christmas sermon. Serenity returns to powdered-Bavaria-land. The quiet time can come. Da Meier & Watschnbaam's Christmas program is like a ride with Rudolph's sled: fast, entertaining, and much funnier than Grandma Erna's annual sock gift. The audience goes home with a warm feeling and the conclusion: at least there's been no fight so far. Merry Christmas!
